Hey there OC Gooners! It's been awhile since our last news update. This season has certainly been another rough one for us. We do look destined to finish it strong though, as we've won the last three in style and we play Newcastle later today. Hopefully we take all three points and move to within 1 point of the scum.

Now onto business. We are going to do a final run of the OC Gooners T-Shirt. The same one found in the photos in our previous news entries below. If you are interested in picking one up, please email us at merch@ocgooners.com and include the size you are requesting. We can get them in both men and women sizes. The cost per shirt is $10. We prefer to exchange the funds in person so you get the shirt right away but if you are not local, we can work something out.

So back to the whole season coming to an end soon. We are planning on hosting an end of the season event. We tried doing one last season but we were new to this whole thing and we'll, we failed on that part. The good news is we've already started to brainstorm the ideas, so we should be good to go. Once we have the details ready, we'll let everybody know.

As for other branch events, plan again on venturing up to Carson, CA to catch Thierry Henry, as the New York Red Bulls take on the LA Galaxy. The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th. Once we sort out the details with the Galaxy, we'll have an allotment of tickets available for members to sit together. Last season we had about 20 SoCal Gooners make it out and it was a lot of fun. The King of Highbury even gave us Galaxy fans something to cheer for when he scored.

So that's about it for now. We want to thank everybody once again for staying committed not only to the club but to the group. The pub turnouts have been solid all season long and it's such a privilege to join each and every one of you who make it out. See you at the pub and Up the Arsenal!

Hello OC Gooners! It's been awhile since the last update but things have continued to go strong with the branch. Solid turnouts for match days and the Arsenal are starting to get some results! Thanks to everybody who has made it out and will continue to make it out. A few updates I'd like to share with all of you.

First off, we finally got the business cards for this season and we started bringing them with us to the pub. If you have yet to get your hands on some, be sure to ask around at the next match. They are perfect for us regulars to have in hand should we run into a Gooner while out and about. They contain all of our information and instead of a person trying to remember what you told them, they'll now have a card with everything on them!

T-Shirt demand continues to be solid. If you haven't purchased your own OC Gooners shirt ($10), make sure you send an email to merch@ocgooners.com with your request, including size. After the last order, we have some remaining but you'll want to send an email to see what we still have in stock. If we don't have your size, just make the request and when the next batch is made, we'll save it for you or send it to you. We also have girls shirts this time, so those are available as well. For those who haven't seen the shirt in the flesh, here it is (enthusiastically modeled by the one and only Nigel):

We also plan to make a "premium t-shirt" available in the near future. It's still being worked on, but here's a sneak peak of what the front badge and back logo will look like (final design of each may change slightly):

                   Front Pocket                                                                                Large Back

More information on those once we iron out the details, so keep an eye out on all OCG fronts for news regarding them!

As some of you may or may not be aware, a few months ago we started up an indoor co-ed six a side soccer team, proudly named the OC Gooners. The new season for them starts this coming Thursday, September 15th. We've also started up a second team from the group for this season and they go by the name OC Dial Square. If you're ever bored on a Thursday evening, head out to the Arena Soccer Park of Orange. Both teams play on the large field there. Just ask at the pub for kick off times, or ask in the Facebook Group. More information about the arena and league can be found at http://www.arenasoccerparks.org/.

Speaking of the Facebook Group, in the near future, we will be moving everything over to the OC Gooners Fan Page and closing the OC Gooners Group Page. While many do like the group chat feature, the fan page provides better resources to get information out to members and better organization. We'll post some updates and announcements when it's closer to that transition. Please note that we are looking for alternatives to the chat group, especially for weekday match days when people generally can't make it to the pub, so stay tuned!

Last but certainly not least, earlier this week, our Branch Spotlight went up on ArsenalAmerica.com. It's a fun little read and we did not want anybody to miss out on it. We are very proud of how far we've come but we couldn't have done it without all of you, so a huge thanks to where we are today and where we'll be throughout this season and many more to come in the future. That's about it for now. We look forward to seeing everybody bright and early this Saturday, September 17th at 4:45am for the match vs Blackburn! COYG!

So opening kick-off was a hit! What a massive turnout last Saturday for the opener vs Newcastle. Thanks again to everybody who made it out, as well as to the midweek match vs Udinese. We had a pretty solid turnout for a midweek match. We hope you guys and gals continue to make it out this season, as we have some awesome plans for the future.

Speaking of which, being our second season, we've already sold out of our first run of OC Gooners t-shirts. We do plan to have more available for the ManU match on Sunday, August 28th. For those interested in ordering a shirt, including women's sizes, please send an email to merch@ocgooners.com with your name and size. Joel will get back to you with the details. Gooners from outside of SoCal, you can also order them by emailing the same address. For those who have not seen the shirt, here it is:

And just in time for the ManU match, we'll also have new business cards that we plan on handing out to members on match days. They're a great way to let a random gooner you meet or see at the store, the pub, the mall, etc. Just hand them the card and all our info is on there. Here is a preview of the business cards:

So that's about it for now. You may have noticed the page has been changed around a bit. I've added an ad-free forum to the site here (http://forums.ocgooners.com). The previous forum wasn't very active and it looked a mess with the ads and colors. This new one is active but nothing is on there yet, so stay tuned on that. There is also now a Newsletter signup form at the bottom of the main page. I'd encourage all of you to sign up, as that will be the best way for us to reach out to members about big events and any major news.

And finally, as another reminder, we'll be showing up at the The Olde Ship this Saturday, at 4:45am, for the match vs Liverpool. The pub will be open and we'll all be ready to sing our hearts out. No word yet on what time the kitchen will be open, that always depends on how many people show up. No beer until 6am though. Hope to see you all there!

COYG!
